He&#8217;s one of those composers you might hear about a lot, without ever actually hearing them.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Earle Brown Music Foundation has thoughtfully been uploading <a href=\"http:\/\/www.earle-brown.org\/works.php\">sound files<\/a> of a number of his compositions, in addition to program notes and samples of his manuscripts, so now you can hear them for yourself. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.earle-brown.org\/works.focus.php?id=25\"><span style=\"font-style: italic;\">Available Forms I<\/span><\/a> is a concise introduction to his open form style, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.earle-brown.org\/works.focus.php?id=34\"><span style=\"font-style: italic;\">Module I<\/span><\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.earle-brown.org\/works.focus.php?id=53\"><span style=\"font-style: italic;\">Module II<\/span><\/a> (performed simultaneously) are a contrasting study in austerity.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">A couple of hours&#8217; worth of assorted Bo Diddley tracks<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">His status as The Originator served as much to constrict his reputation as it did to celebrate it.
