What follows is a blog post I&#8217;d forgotten I&#8217;d written until I found it this afternoon while looking for something else.<\/p>\n<p>Listened to <em>1\/1<\/em> off Brian Eno&#8217;s <em><a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Ambient_1:_Music_for_Airports\">Music For Airports<\/a><\/em> for the first time in years.  Much more happening than I remembered.  <\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>My ear training has come along.  <\/li>\n<li>I&#8217;m listening to a different mix that&#8217;s been &#8220;punched up&#8221; for today&#8217;s attention-deficit culture.  <\/li>\n<li>Small, cheap speakers bring out the synth treatments more.  <\/li>\n<li>My old LP pressing was really crap.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Seemed shorter, too (cf. years of listening to La Monte Young, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.theenthusiast.com.au\/archives\/2009\/the-biscuiteer-arnotts-iced-vovo\/\">Iced Vo Vos<\/a> used to be bigger etc.)<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Music For The Bionic Ear premieres in two weeks&#8217; time so I&#8217;ve been busy tidying the completed work, after a hectic week correcting an almighty stuff-up.
