His last posts have been observing the decline of cereal box artwork, and the difference between <a href=\"http:\/\/johnkstuff.blogspot.com\/2007\/04\/real-dialogue-versus-cartoon-writer.html\">acting and dialogue performed by a real person<\/a>, and performed by a cartoon:<\/div>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/johnkstuff.blogspot.com\/2007\/04\/real-dialogue-versus-cartoon-writer.html\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/cookylamoo.com\/boringlikeadrill\/blogpix\/kframe01.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<blockquote><p>I had  just read the script for &#8220;Disco Droopy&#8221; and someone tipped me off on where the scriptwriter was hiding out&#8230;.  I chased him down and began to deliver God&#8217;s justice upon him&#8230; reality sunk in slowly; it produced a last rebellious and futile  spasmic  outcry.  This is what artists face every day of their lives in the terrible icy world of animation scripts.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The real surprise in this post is his brief reference at the end to the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lyris-lite.net\/2006\/04\/presenting_ultimate_sven_hoek.html\">extensive restoration work<\/a> recently done on <span style=\"font-style: italic;\">Ren and Stimpy<\/span>, salvaging scenes from an old VHS tape.  <span style=\"font-style: italic;\">They had to restore <\/span>Ren and Stimpy<span style=\"font-style: italic;\">.<\/span>  What has the world come to?<\/div>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold; font-style: italic;\">Music Stuff<\/span><\/p>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">Composer Daniel Wolf has been posting frequently on <a href=\"http:\/\/renewablemusic.blogspot.com\/\">Renewable Music<\/a> about the ways that music seeps into other parts of life, including a recent series on Music Landmarks (see the sidebar), a bit like The Rambler&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/johnsonsrambler.wordpress.com\/tag\/music-since-1960\/\">Music Since 1960<\/a> series.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">Finally, WFMU has video of <a href=\"http:\/\/blog.wfmu.org\/freeform\/2007\/04\/john_cage_on_a_.html\">John Cage performing his <span style=\"font-style: italic;\">Water Walk<\/span><\/a>, complete with bathtub, pressure cooker, blender and watering can (but not working radios) on the American TV game show <span style=\"font-style: italic;\">I&#8217;ve Got A Secret<\/span>, in 1960.  The previous year, Cage had performed his music on the Italian quiz show <span style=\"font-style: italic;\">Lascia o Raddoppia<\/span>, where as a contestant he won enough money to buy a minivan for Merce Cunningham&#8217;s dance company.
